Use Case Scenario

Customer moved his web Application named webapp46 to azure.he want backup for his application with specifications like retention period and backup should be done on daily basis.

Solution

Azure Backup service is solution for Customer Requirement.

Steps to implement Backup for an application in azure

PREREQUISITES:

customer need to have an active Azure Subscription. An existing Web Application hosted in Azure.

1. in Azure portal,go to the web application that needs to backup i.e webapp46 web application





2. select Backup from navigation window of webapp46








3. In the Backup page, select "configure". Click here to configure backup for webapp46 app.





4. in the Backup Configuration page, select th Storage not configured to configure a storage account for webapp46 application.


5. create a storage account and container for weapp46 application backup or if customer has storage account readily available in his subscription choose that storage account. After deploying of storage account ,add/choose the container for webapp46 application backup.





6. Configure Backup Schedule & Database.
   In the Backup Configuration page, click "ON " at Scheduled backup so that we can able to configure about retention and data backup specifications





7. Configure the backup schedule as desired like here backup is on daily basis, retention period of 30 days and select OK. Now in Backup Configuration Page, if customer have to configure Backup Database,include it in our Backup.



**Note**
The maximum size of the content in webapp46 application and size of the database should not exceed 10 GB ,if customer expecting there will be growth in database ,it is advisable to choose azure backup database service instead of including database here.

8. To get the backup data ,in backup ,there option named Restore, select it and get the data
